There's a reason these guys are so common within the pet trade: they are super affectionate! Females are typically a far better choice for a beginner who's trying to find affection, as they have a tendency to be gentler and quieter than their male counterparts; the males tend to be loud attention hogs who won't hesitate to offer you a touch nip or start making a ruckus if you stop making them the middle of your attention. Cockatiels need an outsized cage with many toys and perches. They also need a minimum of an hour or two of one-on-one out-of-cage time a day . A pet cockatiel can live up to 30 years, so be prepared for a long-term relationship crammed with playful antics.

What Cockatiels eat?
Apple, Apricot, Banana, Blackberries, cherries, coconut, dates, figs, grape, kiwi, mango and melon are the fruits which cockatiels eat.Vegetables which may be added to cockatiels diet are carrots, cabbage, cucumber, peas, potatoes, pumpkin and spinach.
Cockatiel Cage Size,Toys and Care
The cage size for a cockatiel must be 24" long by 18" wide by 24" tall. A cage should have horizontal bars on a minimum of two sides, as hookbills like to climb. Horizontal bars help to form climbing easier. Bar spacing should be no quite 3¼4" apart to stop injury. Toys for Cockatiels
