             Finches prefer a nest box with U-shaped hole to enter.We should provide our birds with safe nesting materials.We need to place the nesting materials in the cage and the finches will decide the nesting materials they need and will start building their nest.Finches sometimes nest directly on the floor.So we have to give them the best nesting materials.At times they can nest in the corner of the cage also.Only when the Finches breed do they need a nest.Finches breed between March and August.

                       

          Finches need nesting materials for breeding.Until the nest is completed Finches will not start breeding.They will collect different netsing materials like feathers,cotton,etc when we add them to the cage and slowly try to build their nest.Once the process is complete they will breed.

                     

        The Finches become mature and start to breed once they are 3 months old.It takes about 2 months after which there will be growth in the baby.The Female Finch lays upto 6 eggs and the incubation period is about 12 to 14 days.The baby birds leave their nest after 21 days and will start to eat on their own.

              

       Finches can live upto 7 to 14 years and even sometimes more longer if they are taken care well and kept in good contions.Both male an female Finches sit on their eggs and take good care of them.It is best to cover the cage at night so that Finches hava a good sleep.Finches sleep between 10 -12 hours.If we provide good nesting materials to breed for Finches they will build a nest needed for their babies and can breed well,thus they collect varities of nesting materials.

12.Chewing helps birds to condition their beaks and entertain themselves.

A New Cockatiel and baby Budgie is coming home.

  

                  A new Cockatiel bird and baby budgie is coming home.We went to the Pet Shop to get food for birds and we saw a cute Cockatiel bird and baby budgie.The bird was similar to Zuzu.We could not resist from buying the new birds so we got the Cockatiel bird,baby budgie and brought it home.So the bird family is getting extended even more now.

                 All the birds were very happy and excited to see the new members at home and they started welcoming the new birds.We named the bird Pixie and Blue Bell

                   Finches are beautiful little birds.It has been 4 months now and Finches are ready to breed.Finches and Cockatiels have become good friends and they all play together and share some happy time with each other.

            I am very excited and happy to show you my new family members and they are the cute little birds called Finches.Yes,we purchased a pair of Finches as we are bird lovers.The cute little birds are really an awesome creation of The Almighty. Words cannot describe their beauty. Zuzu and Luna started to sing and talk more after they came home.So now our bird family has new members and is increasing. After the arrival of Finches the Cockatiels became more happy and started to play with them.

           It is a wonderful sight to see Finches playing.We admired their playfulness and they make cute sounds.At times we would pause a little sit and see what they do and how they talk and play.Finches normally chit-chat with each other and they play.

  First time when my pet came home

            The very first time when my pet came home i was very happy and words cannot describe the happiness i felt.We named the bird Zuzu.He is a pretty bird and we love him.As days passed Zuzu became very close to us and became our family member.Zuzu is an intelligent and a naughty bird.We had lots of fun and happiness together

              After few months we were thinking of getting a pair for Zuzu. So we bought a female cockatiel for Zuzu.We named the bird Luna.The very first day the bird came home our joy knew no bounds. 

Zuzu was very excited and happy.The first few days Luna was scared and did not come out of the cage. Though we tried to hand feed her she did not eat from our hands.

Patience is required to gain the trust of Cockatiels.We were waiting patiently for Luna to become comfortable with new place. Luna was mostly sleeping for few weeks and we admired her style.
